- Dusty Baker came to the Dodgers before the 1976 season after four pretty good years with the Atlanta Braves. The Dodgers gave up several players to get him, but the trade worked out quite well for the Dodgers in the long run.
- Baker didn't do much for the Dodgers in 1976 (.242 with 4 HR in 112 games) as he played with torn cartilage in his left knee.
- Dusty was a big part of the Dodgers' offense from 1977-1983 before finishing his career in San Francisco (1984) and Oakland (1985-1986).
