- Ken Reitz won a Gold Glove at third base in 1975. The Giants were looking to shore up their defense, so they traded pitcher Pete Falcone to the Cardinals for Reitz.
- Ken played only one season (1976) in San Francisco. He batted .269 in 155 games but hit only five homers and had a .293 on base percentage.
- After the 1976 season the Giants traded Reitz back to St. Louis for pitcher Lynn McGlothen.
