Rick Burleson was a good shortstop for the Red Sox from 1974-1980. He was traded after the 1980 season (he was going to be a free agent and the Red Sox wanted to get something for him).He had a good season for the Angels in 1981. Injuries shortened his career (he missed the entire 1985 season with a torn rotator cuff) and he didn't play a whole lot from 1982-1984. He was the AL Comeback Player of the Year in 1986 and then retired after the 1987 season.
Rick was a 4-time All Star (1977-1979 and 1981) and won one Gold Glove award (1979) and one Silver Slugger award (1981).
He was stranded at third base in the last inning of the 163rd game of the 1978 season won by the Yankees.
Rick managed in the minors from 1997-2007. He is now the hitting coach for the AAA Reno Aces (affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks).
Here is a link to an interview Rick did in March 2009. The interview is 32 minutes.
