- Perry had two (maybe even three) peaks in his career. This five-year period looks like a good one -- he won between 16 and 24 games each year.

Sometimes I wonder if he ever looked under 50 years old. I know I've seen some of his earlier cards, but... I honestly suspect the batboy was in the photo, 'cause I can't bring myself to believe that Gaylord Perry ever lived 'til he was 45 or so.
