- Tommy Helms was mostly a pinch hitter for the Pirates in 1976. He batted .276 in 87 AB during the season.
- Helms went 0 for 12 for the Pirates in 1977 and was released in mid-June.
- Tommy was picked up by the Boston Red Sox and was a backup for the team for the rest of the 1977 season.
- Helms was released during spring training in 1978 and retired.
Those sideburns need a card all of their own.
