- When this card was made, Morris Nettles' major league career was already over. Morris played in the majors in 1974 and 1975. Nettles was drafted by the California Angels in 1970.
- Nettles first made it to the majors in 1974. He had a month-long stint from late April-late May and then came back to the majors in late August. Morris batted .274 in 56 games. He stole 20 bases and was caught 11 times.
- Morris spent most of the 1975 season with the Angels except for a 13-game stint with AAA Salt Lake City. Nettles batted .231 in 112 games. He stole 22 bases and was caught 15 times. After the 1975 season Morris was traded with Jim Spencer to the Chicago White Sox for Steve Dunning and Bill Melton.
- The White Sox assigned Nettles to AAA Iowa. He batted .190 in 48 games for Iowa. Morris moved on to AAA Toledo (Cleveland Indians organization) and batted .254 in 65 games. That was it for Nettles' baseball career.
I'm going to make an attempt to collect as many baseball cards as possible from 1976. I was 9 when the 1976 Topps baseball cards came out. I have most of those cards, but I'd like to expand and get the other cards from this great year.
