The Angels were represented by Nolan Ryan and Frank Tanana, neither of which pitched. Based on Tanana's game logs, he missed a couple of weeks in there so he may have had to opt out for an injury. Ryan pitched right before and right after the ASG, so he was healthy. <BR/><BR/>I'm wondering if LaRoche was simply an injury replacement for Tanana. The only other relievers on the AL staff were Jim Kern (Cleveland), Bill Campbell (Minnesota) and Sparky Lyle (Yankees).
